Celebrating Women in Construction Week
We celebrated Women’s History Month and Women in Construction Week by sharing stories from some of our women leaders at Mosaic. Read on to learn about their career journeys and what matters to them at Mosaic.
“Having studied art history and computer science in college, I was instantly drawn to Mosaic’s work at the intersection of design and technology. As a member of our Product Team, I’m able to build tools that improve construction processes on and off the job site, ultimately helping Mosaic design places people love.”
Maia Leandra Suazo-Maler, Product Manager
“I’m most excited about building the structure and framework for accounting at Mosaic so that the future team we hire has the strong foundation they need. What drew me specifically to this company is the concept. I come from a construction background, so it’s super exciting to work on a tech-based build process. I feel connected to the company culture, and am excited to be a part of this team as it evolves.”
Kate Cass, Controller
“Women are trailblazing in construction through their craft, drive, and tenacity. Mosaic’s encouragement of women in this industry inspires those at all levels. Maia knocks down the norms with her innovative mindset on process and product. Donna, a Superintendent, our female Electricians, and others change cultural perceptions with their presence in the field. As a part of the People Ops team, Kayla and I have a unique vantage point to this cultural shift through recruitment, people development, and the employee experience.”
Maria Johnson, People Ops Manager
“I’ve been blessed to work for a company that cares more about qualifications and talent than gender. This mentality is how women have been able to have a larger presence in all facets of the construction industry. Within Mosaic, we have strong and talented women who are electricians, superintendents, engineers, and members of the leadership team. Qualified women are being put in positions where they can help the company grow and succeed.”
Sarah Wells, Purchasing
“I come from a family of electricians, so naturally it’s always been an interest of mine to do more hands-on work. I’m thrilled to have found a company that values having women in the field (and all areas of the business). Mosaic has provided amazing educational resources to help us continue growing in our careers—I feel like the best version of myself at work!”
